Many people enjoy a nice cold beer or glass of wine after a long day at work or when socializing with family and friends. At the same time, many folks turn to over-the-counter medications to deal with common ailments. What may come as a surprise is that mixing alcohol with everyday medications can be very risky, even deadly. Ibuprofen, and other NSAIDs, reduce the production of prostaglandins, which help control blood flow to the kidney.

Drugs like ibuprofen are the safest when taken for a short period since long-term ibuprofen use isn’t as safe or beneficial as other more vital medicines for pain management. For long time treatment, doctors will usually offer alternatives that are safer to take often. It is also essential to carefully read medication labels as ibuprofen is common in many headaches, colds, and prescription medicines.

     Imagina ficar sem poder ver alguém querido que está doente num hospital e em isolamento. Só o fato de supor essa situação, já dá um frio na barriga, imagina ter que encarar esse momento. Isso é o que está acontecendo com os parentes de pacientes diagnosticados com a Covid-19 e que precisam se internar para tratar da doença. Altamente contagiosa, a Covid-19 requer um isolamento rígido, por isso os doentes, inclusive idosos e crianças, não podem ter acompanhantes enquanto se tratam. Para atenuar essa angustia, o Complexo Hospitalar Regional Deputado Janduhy Carneiro, de Patos, implantou um setor específico para cuidar desta questão: a Unidade de Comunicação Familiar (UCF).
E é justamente o serviço da UCF que está amenizando a saudade e a angústia da família do aposentado Hilton Martins Medeiros, de 75 anos, que desde o último dia 15, está sob os cuidados da equipe do isolamento Covid, do Hospital de Patos. A filha do paciente, a Sra. Idelvita Medeiros Santos, já falou com o pai em vídeo chamada e elogiou a iniciativa do hospital. “É um serviço ótimo, porque a gente não pode visitar, ficar perto, acompanhar, não pode ver, enfim, essa vídeo chamada tranquilizou todo mundo e foi muito bom poder não apenas conversar com meu pai, mas, também vê-lo e ter a certeza de que ele está sendo bem tratado”, disse Idelvita elogiando a iniciativa do hospital.
A diretora geral do Complexo, Liliane Sena, reforça que a implantação do serviço na unidade melhorou o fluxo de informações entre a instituição e os familiares dos pacientes. “Com a criação e implantação da UCF, nós conseguimos aperfeiçoar essa rotina de repasse de informações para os familiares dos pacientes com Covid-19 e temos recebido muitos elogios pela iniciativa”, diz Liliane, lembrado que o serviço é restrito aos pacientes do isolamento, porque todos os demais ficam com acompanhantes. Ela ressalta ainda que as vídeo chamadas não são rotina da UCF, mas, que, eventualmente, as transmissões poderão ser feitas, caso a caso.
Antes da implantação da UCF, as informações do quadro e evolução dos pacientes eram repassadas de maneira presencial, pelo médico do setor Covid, que em determinado horário do dia cumpria essa rotina de forma individual com os familiares dos pacientes. Mas, essa sistemática sofria reiteradas mudanças, porque em alguns momentos marcados, o médico tinha que atender uma intercorrência, atrasava e não tinha a regularidade que a unidade pretendia estabelecer. Além disso, os familiares de pacientes que não moram em Patos também ficavam com dificuldades de estar na unidade no horário marcado para poder participar deste momento diariamente.
A UCF funciona de domingo a domingo, com plantões diurnos, com a disponibilidade de um profissional plantonista que fica, exclusivamente, com essa missão de levantar o histórico e quadro clínico de cada paciente, através de seu boletim médico, e ligar para as famílias e passar as informações mais atualizadas sobre a situação do paciente. Quando o paciente tem condições de falar, é feito a vídeo chamada, como foi o caso do Sr. Hilton, nesta segunda-feira (22), que permanece internado e se recuperando numa enfermaria do isolamento Covid.
